PASTOR JACK'S THOUGHTS MARCH 15, 2010
REJECTION TO VICTORY
God's Word is amazing! This week take time to see Jesus from Isaiah, through the Gospels and into Revelation. It all focuses on Jesus! Isaiah 53 shows us a perfect picture of the sadness of the cross. Take time to read that chapter. It talks about our Savior's pain, suffering and rejection....don't miss reading this in preparation for Easter. Think about His grief and rejection! He was rejected by men, smitten by God and carried our sins to the cross so that we might have salvation from sin and death!! What a gracious Savior! He came from the glory of being One with the Father to receiving all the sin of the world and separation from His Father so that He could deliver us from death into life! What a sacrifice!
Then we see Him in Matthew 28:6 "He is risen!!"; John 20: 19, 21, 26 "Peace be unto you!!" We see the victory after His tremendous suffering. The angel said, "HE IS RISEN!!" Those are victory words! He has done what no other man could do! The power in Him brought Him back from death and hell. Then Jesus concludes with His giving us a gift, "Peace be unto you!!" He came to suffer and die so that He could secure our peace and salvation! What a gracious Savior!
Now we go from history to the future when we read Revelation 19, we see Him in victory as "King of Kings and Lord of Lords;" in Revelation 21 we find Him as "The Beginning and and End" and also as the "Lamb" who saves us from our sins. He re-enters the world with victory and honor. The One who was once rejected by man is Victor of Glory! What a King!
Easter is a celebration of his death and resurrection but don't forget the whole picture: He suffered, He died and He will return as King!! Rejoice! Be exceeding glad and praise His wonderful Name.
What a sacrifice! What a gracious Savior!! What a King!
