            PASTOR JACK'S THOUGHTS      SEPTEMBER 14, 2009

WHAT IS GOD'S WILL FOR ME?
Since Glad and I will be out of town next Sunday, this will not follow along with my sermon on Sunday.  I am so thankful that Andy Nguyen will be preaching in my place for that service.  Thanks Andy!!
Please pray for him. But, I do have a thought of the week for you!

Yesterday, I preached on David, A Man After God's Own Heart. David was a man faithful to his God.  He was raised as a shepherd boy in the fields of Israel.  It was in that job that God was preparing him for the future. He learned to sing to his sheep and he learned to fight off wild animals in order to protect the sheep too.  How interesting that later in life his songs were recorded and we use them today and also, he used his learned skills in fighting off animals to kill a giant and also to win many battles for God's people.  It is my belief that God trains us in areas that we will use in life long before we are aware of how our lives will take shape.  As a young teenager, I wanted to be a lawyer and help people but  God chose for me to be a missionary and help people instead.  Both of those jobs include working by helping people.  God trained me and gave me a desire to help people long before I knew His will for my future.

So what does all that have to do with God's will?  Well, you might already know God's will for your occupation or maybe you don't know God's will for your future but there is one thing for sure, God does have a will and a plan for your daily life.  Sometimes we read this and over look the importance of it but in I Thess. 5:16-18 we learn God's basic will for us.  "Rejoice always, pray continually, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."  So for all of us, everyday, in every job God's will for us is "Rejoice!! Pray!! And Give Thanks!"  If that is your theme for daily living, God can use you no matter what your future holds! You will become a "Person after God's own heart" just like David. Praise His Holy Name!

Prayerfully,
Pastor Jack
