FAITH TO LIVE BY
For the past four Sundays we have looked at the first section of the Ten Commandments.  Let me remind you that the commandments are in two sections. The first four commandments are based on our relationship with the Lord our God.  The next six commandments are based on our relationships with each other.  Since this is the time of Easter preparation, I will take a break from the commandments and we will look toward the Cross and the
Resurrection for the next 3-4 weeks.

The foundation for the Cross and Resurrection is faith.  Faith means to believe even when we can not see proof of the result.  Isn't it interesting that many people today say, "prove it!" or "show me."  Yet Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is built on faith and not on proof.  Faith is a requirement of the Christian church. Ask yourself, "How many times a day do I believe (have faith) that God can do something in my life that seems impossible?" Easter is a true picture of faith. The disciples thought their world had been shattered when Jesus was crucified.  But they weren't counting on the fact that God is known for doing the impossible!  He raised Him from the dead!! He gave life to the seeming lifeless Jesus.  The angel said to Mary before the birth of Jesus, "Nothing is impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)

Spend some time thinking this week about the need in your life to leave everything with God and trust that He can do even the impossible. Habakkuk 2:4 and Romans 1:17 say that "The righteous shall live by faith." Faith must be an active part of our day. Trust him with your day and then take a look at the events of your day before you go to bed.  What good things did He bring about in your day? Were some things seemingly impossible yet, He worked them out? Praise Him for being the God who cares for you!
Have a blessed week!!  Pastor Jack
