PASTOR JACK'S THOUGHTS     SEPTEMBER 29, 2009

BE READY
My thoughts last week and this week center around the "Return of Christ."  I feel that it is timely information for this age we are living in today.  All of us have seen daily news and are aware that our world is changing very rapidly.  In today's world we have had reports that people have been killed for their faith. Sometimes parents have killed their children and children have killed parents, changes in our weather have turned bizarre such as sunamis and earthquakes.  What does all this have to do with today's Christian?

Frankly speaking, these, and other things that are happening, are mentioned in God's Word as events described as forerunners of Christ's return.  We need to be informed and we need to be people of wisdom and faith. In the book of Daniel, Joel, Matthew and Revelation are descriptions of what the Bible says are indicators of the eminent return of Christ. Some of them include:
  1. Nations fighting against nations.
  2. The love (compassion) of people will grow cold.
  3. Drastic changes in weather.
  4. Persecution for one's faith will become more common.

In order to be truly informed about such things read what Jesus had to say in Matthew, Chapter 24; and what God's Word says in Daniel, Chapters 7-12; and in the entire book of Revelation. Are we ready for the second coming of our Lord and Savior?  Strengthen your faith and walk closely with the Lord daily because it seems our world has already started into the last days that the Scripture describe in these books.  Paul sometimes wrote to churches and said that he "would not have you ignorant" of some things and so as one of your pastors I say, "We should not be ignorant of what is ahead and we need to know the signs of our times in regard to His Return."

Therefore, I will be preaching this Sunday on Christ's Return or namely "The King is Coming" from Revelation 19.

Be wise in knowledge and understanding,
Pastor Jack
